Adrasan sits in a sheltered bay ringed by mountains on three sides, and that geography shapes the whole character of the place. The headlands at either end block the wind, so the sea is usually flat, and the water deepens slowly along the long beach. Together these make Adrasan one of the easiest bays on the Antalya coast for families with children. Accommodation is made up of family-run guesthouses and boutique properties rather than large chains.

Behind the bay stretch orange groves and pine forest; in front runs one of the Mediterranean's best-known walking routes. The stage of the Lycian Way from Adrasan to the Gelidonya Lighthouse follows the coast and ends at the abandoned lighthouse, counted among the most loved sections of the trail. From the sea, boat trips run to Suluada, whose bright turquoise water is a day most visitors set aside.

The journey from the airport follows the coastal highway, turns inland near Kumluca and finishes on the mountain road down to the bay. This last stretch is winding; the time maps give rarely matches reality, and with a driver unfamiliar with the route the trip takes longer than expected. Most guesthouses in Adrasan are on narrow lanes within the bay or among gardens by the stream; signs are small and navigation often stops at the beach entrance.
