Kestel lies just east of Alanya centre and has grown rapidly in recent years. Beginning once you pass the castle and the Red Tower, this strip feels like a natural continuation of the city, with both hotels and permanent housing. The shore mixes pebble and sand, while banana greenhouses and citrus groves stretch across the slopes behind.

Kestel's greatest advantage is its closeness to Alanya centre — the castle, marina and Damlataş Cave are minutes west. To the east begins the Dim River valley, whose riverside restaurants with chairs set in the water are the classic place to cool off in the summer heat. Dim Cave and Sapadere Canyon are also among the day trips run from here.

Kestel is reached from the airport along the D400 highway, one of the longest routes on the Antalya coast, continuing past Alanya centre. Most of the road is comfortable, though it can get busy after Manavgat in summer. In Kestel the hotels line the shore while housing sits largely on the hillside north of the main road, where streets are narrow and steep.
